Won't Get Fooled Again?

Trippi's out. That's the rumor at least. He promised a revolution and delivered something not quite ready for primetime. Still, it was fun. At least we got that win by losing (ala Goldwater in '64) nonsense out of our system before the primaries even really began.

I've come to belive the Dean phenom is much more about the campaign (trippi) than the candidate (dean). If true, i'd say yr rmor is bad news for Dean.

As a die-hard Dean supporter - the first Democrat I've ever backed - I can't help feel nervous about the change. Perhaps Dean felt that Trippi was too polarizing a figure and didn't have sufficient command of the press.

I still think the race is playing favorably enough for Dean. The ideal situation is for the three candidates with potential Southern appeal (I include Lieberman) to beat up upon each other, leaving a Kerry/Dean 2 way race. I'm confident that in such a race Dean can flank Kerry to the right on the budget, guns, and voting record; and more importantly, will win over voters with his candor, energy, and authenticity. Of course, the flanking requires increased temperence in tone, which, hopefully, is why this change is being made.
